Olympic Air was formed as part of the privatization of the former Greek national carrier Olympic Airlines / Olympic Airways, from 1957 to the beginning of the 21st century.
As a flag carrier, Olympic operated services to 37 domestic destinations and to 32 destinations world-wide from the airline's main base at Athens International Airport.
